CompuServe

In the Mail
Extractor’s Configure ME window select IMAP, which indicates
that you want to log on using an IMAP account.
Set "Incoming mail (POP/IMAP)” to: imap.cs.com.
Set "Outgoing mail (SMTP)” to: smtp.cs.com.
Enter your CS2000 member name in the "Account name"
box.
Enter the Password for your CS2000 account in the "Password:"
box
Enter your email address (i.e., membername@cs.com) in the E-mail
address box.
Your outgoing
mail server (smtp.cs.com) might require you to authorize when connecting
to it (especially if you are connecting to CompuServe through a different
ISP than CompuServe). If so, check the "My outgoing server requires
authentication" box.

Delete
messages from the server after downloading
Leave this box unchecked if you don't want your messages being deleted
from your mail server after downloading.
All New downloaded messages will be in that case moved to your "Old
Mail" folder in your CompuServe mail client. Make sure you delete
these messages from your CS mail client before next download. If you leave
"Don't download already downloaded messages" unchecked,
then these messages will be downloaded again in the next session of getting
messages.
Don't
download already downloaded messages:
Mail Extractor remembers the ID of each downloaded message. If you check
this option, then while downloading, Mail Extractor will skip any message
that has already been downloaded by Mail Extractor.
Download
extra data from Web
With this option you can specify if you want Mail Extractor to get additional
data from Amazon or Half.com 'details' Web pages (Quantity, ISBN, Seller's
Comments,...). This process can only be implemented while downloading
messages.
Serial
Number
As soon as you purchase Mail Extractor you'll receive an e-mail from PayPal.com
with a Serial number.
FREE TRIAL VERSION serial number could be found
on download page. Enter the number in the provided
box.
You won't be able to use Mail Extractor without this number.
Don't give away your serial number. If two programs are detected to have
the same serial number, they'll be both disabled without warning!
Important:
Please note that Mail Extractor will download all relevant messages from
both your "New" and "Old Mail" folder in your CompuServe
mail client (all the messages that are on your mail server). Prior to
using Mail Extractor again you need to completely delete unwanted e-mails
(those already downloaded into Mail Extractor) from your mail server,
not just move them to "Old Mail" folder. This inconvenience
can be avoided by using "Don't download already downloaded messages"
option.
Yahoo!Mail

If
you're using your @yahoo.com e-mail with Mail Extractor, make sure that
POP Access option is selected on Yahoo. That will allow Mail Extractor
or other mail client to gain access to your Yahoo mail server.
You can find this option if you go to mail.yahoo.com,
click on Options, then POP Access & Forwarding.
Step 1 - Choose:
Web and POP Access
Step 2 - Choose:
Text messages only
Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo! Mail:
Enter these parameters into Mail Extractors's configuration window.
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Account Name: your Yahoo! Mail name (your address without "@yahoo.com")
Email address: your Yahoo! Mail address (i.e. yourusername@yahoo.com)
Password: your Yahoo! Mail password.
"Don't
download already downloaded messages"
Mail Extractor remembers the ID of each downloaded message. If you check
this option, then while downloading, Mail Extractor will skip any message
that has already been downloaded by Mail Extractor.
"Delete messages from the server after downloading"
Leave this box unchecked if you don't want your messages being deleted
from your mail server after downloading. If you also leave "Don't
download already downloaded messages" unchecked, then Mail Extractor
will download again previously downloaded messages and you'll end up with
duplicate e-mails in Mail Extractor. If "Delete messages from the server
after downloading" box is checked, then after downloading with Mail
Extractor, these messages will be deleted from the mail server and you
won't be able to access them with your other mail client (Outlook Express,
etc.). For your peace of mind, we recommend that prior to use of Mail
Extractor you download your email with your mail client FIRST. That way,
you'll have a copy of the email both in Mail Extractor and your mail client.

Other ISP's
We
highly recommend that you change your Internet Provider in case it cannot
be used with Mail Extractor.
Yahoo is just one of the ISP's that work seamlessly with Mail Extractor.
Mail Extractor works only with POP or IMAP mail servers. If you can
use Outlook Express or other third party mail programs, chances are you
can use Mail Extractor.
You can configure Mail Extractor just like you would any other mail client
(Outlook Express, Netscape…).
You should find these instructions from your ISP.
Please contact your ISP or LAN administrator for your:
SMTP mail server name (outgoing mail server).
POP3 or IMAP mail server name (incoming mail server).
Your "Account Name" and "Password" are
the same you would use in Outlook Express or any other email client.
Your account name and password will be stored on your computer.
When trying to use Autoresponder in Mail Extractor, you might get the
following warning:
"Please check your outgoing mail server parameters in Configure ME
window!". In
such case, try checking "My outgoing server requires authentication"
box, and then press the Autoresponder button again. If that doesn't help,
you might be using some other username and password for your outgoing
(SMTP) mail server. In such a case, press Settings... button in
Configure ME window, and enter your username and password for the
outgoing server. If that still doesn't help, then we suggest that you
try using some other SMTP server (this doesn't mean that you have to change
your incoming mail server, ie. POP or IMAP).
"Don't
download already downloaded messages"
Mail Extractor remembers the ID of each downloaded message. If you check
this option, then while downloading, Mail Extractor will skip any message
that has already been downloaded by Mail Extractor.
"Delete messages from the server after downloading"
Leave this box unchecked if you don't want your messages being deleted
from your mail server after downloading. If you also leave "Don't
download already downloaded messages" unchecked, then Mail Extractor
will download again previously downloaded messages and you'll end up with
duplicate e-mails in the main window. If "Delete messages from the server
after downloading" box is checked, than after the download with Mail Extractor,
these messages will be deleted from the mail server and you won't be able
to access them with your other mail client (Outlook Express, etc.). For
your peace of mind, we recommend that prior to use of Mail Extractor you
download your mail with your mail client FIRST. That way, you'll have
a copy of the e-mail both in Mail Extractor and your mail client.

Configure your mail client to work properly with Mail Extractor (Outlook
Express, Eudora....)
Mail
Extractor downloads emails directly from your incoming server and it doesn't
communicate with your standard mail client in any way. Therefore, you
need to prevent deleting messages from server when you download them with
your standard mail client. In most mail clients there is an option "Leave
a copy of messages on server", or something like that. The point
is that messages don't get deleted when downloaded by your mail client,
because you want to download some of them with Mail Extractor, too.
Once successfully downloaded to Mail Extractor, messages need to be deleted
from mail server. Your standard mail client should have this ability.
For instance, if you use Outlook Express, you can check "Remove
messages from server when deleted from 'Deleted items'". This
means that your messages get specified to be deleted from server when
you delete them from 'Deleted Items' folder, ie. when you delete them
permanently from Outlook Express. The next Send/Receive session willl
actually delete them from your mail server.
An other solution is that you check "Remove from server after
X days", where X represents a number (1,2,3,...). This way, messages
get deleted from server automatically after a number of days, not needing
you to delete them from 'Deleted Items'. This option is risky if you receive
a large number of emails, because your server might get overloaded before
the specified number of days expires.

your outgoing (SMTP) server requires different settings

using a SMTP server that requires you to enter a different username and
password than those you are using for your incoming server. In such case,
